Diving in Komodo is not a new idea but recently it's being recognised as a premier destination due to the awesome variety of diving to be had. Crystal clear water and dive sites where you never see another diver provide a little something for everyone whether it's macro or massive you love. One day you can be crawling along the bottom looking at pygmy seahorses, frogfish and unusual nudibranch and the next you are in the big blue on an open water pinnacle as the mantas fly by, the sharks circle and the dolphins hunt and the next day diving a live volcano!! For sheer variety there is no better place on earth. Diving in Komodo is one of the few places left in the world where sharks are not rare and down south is one of the places where manta rays have their legendary aggregations, meaning they are here in the area in their hundreds!!!
Starting from Bali, Bima or Komodo you cruise in luxury diving the small islands north of Sumbawa, Gili Banta, Gili Lawalaut, Sangeang volcano, and of course Komodo experie
ncing the best of the Lesser Sunda islands.
(Komodo diving photos )
One of the highlights of these trips is the rare opportunity to walk with the lengendary Komodo dragons. These truly awesome beasts can reach 3 metres plus and can reportedly run at 20km an hour chasing their prey. It's the icing on the cake, Stunning diving and one of the world's last surviving dinosaur descendants all one amazing package.
This is truly the trip of a lifetime.
Revel in a magestic array of superb natural attractions - unspoiled coral gardens, volcanic landscapes and unexplored turquoise cays. Straddling the equator, Indonesia is a tropical island paradise made up of 14,000 islands, many of which are noted as world-class diving destinations. The stunning natural wealth of this archipelago, even when considering itsindividual attractions, is enough to make most other travel spots green with envy. If you are looking for an idyllic tropical setting with great diving right at your doorstep and unforgettable natural wonders, a trip to Indonesia is a must.
Even though there is no way for this website to touch on all that Indonesia has to offer, here is a brief glimpse at some of the highlights
There is truly something for everyone. Indonesia can rightfully boast of landscapes consisting of palm-fringed tropical islands, heavenly white-sand beaches, majestic wildernesses, towering mountains, an impressive chain of volcanoes and the world’s best underwater spots.
For those with an itch to explore, you can search for the legendary "Komodo Dragon" on the island of the same name, explore the lush habitat of the "Bird of Paradise", enjoy kayaking and bird watching in the coastal mangroves or trek through superb national parks. The Cenderawasih natural reserve offers both iridescent corals underwater and great trekking opportunities as parts of visits to fascinating traditional villages.
But if your idea of a holiday is pure relaxation, you can also just relish the wonderful warmth of the sun on the legendary beaches on Bali after a drift dive through exquisite coral gardens. Nusa Tengara and North Sulawesi are famed for their underwater landscapes and the breathtaking beauty of the remote Maluku Islands can be enjoyed from our beautiful sundeck.
And, of course, for those happiest in the underwater realm, you will not be disappointed! The uniqueness of West Papua, a largely ignored region which is home to the world’s highest and most species-rich island, will leave you with fantastic memories to last a lifetime. The reefs and beaches of the Togean Islands provide spectacular diving amidst a perfect tropical island setting. Komodo of course is considered the quintessential dive destination but you shouldn't overlook the opportunity to discover the natural marine richness and the unusual rarity of places like the Raja Ampat Archipelago, which has been called a "Lost World", a jewel both on land and at sea.
And this is only a brief glimpse at the country's charms! Indonesia still has many areas waiting to be discovered. Come join us in our explorations of the hundreds of untouched islands surrounded by enchanting coral reefs that await you!
The marvelously rich culture of Indonesia boasts a unique and remarkable assortment of cultural traditions, vibrant arts and many individual ethnic groups.
The rugged mountainous terrain and the fact that the country is made up of many islands, many of which remained isolated from each other, resulted in groups of people with distinct traditions and an extraordinarily diverse differentiation of languages and cultures across the archipelago.
The islanders did not in fact become "Indonesians" until 1945, when a line was drawn to incorporate the former Dutch East Indies, a group of islands bringing together an astonishingly varied collection of peoples.
Examples of this heterogeneous development can be seen in the fascinating temple complexes of Borobudur and Prambanam, or during a visit to Sumba, home to some of the most traditional cultures in East Indonesia, where you can see spectacular ikat and massive megalithic tombs. You can also visit centers of contemporary art and culture on Bali, or discover South Sulawesi and the area of Toraja, where elaborate funeral rites are a central part of their society. To experience a living example of Indonesia's rich culture, visit the Minangkabau region of West Sumutra, known for its architecture, and where music and dance thrive. Is it any surprise then that "Unity in diversity" is Indonesia's national motto - Photos of Raja Ampat diving - Komodo diving photos

Number of Dives/Site selection:
8 days/7 nights itineraries allow for 22 dives.
Our 6 days/5 night
trips allow for 16 dives.
Schedules are subject to weather conditions and security/safety issues.
Dive
site selection detailed in the published itinerary is subject to change by the Captain or Cruise Director
without prior notice. There are numerous fantastic sites in Nusa Tengarra and Komodo and our
objective is to take you to the best of the best !
What diver certification level is needed for diving in Komodo ? :
Everyone is welcome on board, no matter what level your certification. Dive groups and site selection
will be chosen to meet your safety, comfort and diving ability – and is subject to the discretion of the
Cruise Director. If you are up for it, we’ll take you right into it for all the action the site offers ! You
may wish to bring a reef hook for some dive sites.
Dive Guides and Diver Safety:
Our experienced dive crew would be delighted to assist you. Divers
are welcome to dive with their buddy on sites deemed suitable by the Cruise Director. All divers are
required to dive with a dive computer – available for rent on board if you don’t have your
own. Nitrox fills and courses are available on board to enhance your diving safety. Please allow 24
hours between last dive and flying. Guests are requested to show diving certification cards on
checking in and are strongly recommended to have valid dive insurance (Padi, Dan or equivalent).
Departure and Arrival Times:
For Cruises departing from Bali: Guests are required to arrive in

Once deposit is received, Queen Scuba Liveaboard team will book the domestic flight on your behalf
and advise flight time and also pick up time in Bali. To avoid problems with international flights being
delayed and missing the connecting flight to Labuan Bajo it is best, if possible to arrive the day before
in Bali.
Transfers:
Transfers from/to the airport or hotels in the south are free of charge. From destinations
in central and northern Bali, there is a small charge. Please refer to the price list.
Water Temperature and Wetsuit recommendations:
The Flores Sea with its usually clear blue waters, great visibility has water temperatures of approx 26-
28 degrees (northern dive locations) – a 3-5 mm shorty is okay with most guests comfortable with a
3-5mm long. The Sumba Sea (southern dive locations) has an average temperature of approx 22-24
degrees – the awesome diving let’s you forget about the cooler waters ! Think about a 5mm long
possibly adding a vest or renting a shortly to go over the top if you feel the cold. Hood, gloves and
booties are strongly recommended for these cooler waters.
Equipment on board:
Rental equipment is available on board. Our tanks are 12 litre aluminum and
we have a few 15 litre steel tanks available for rent. Tank valves are international and some DIN
adapters are available on board. Any dive equipment failure or loss will require you to rent a
replacement from Queen Scuba Liveaboards at our published rates. If Queen Scuba Liveaboard
equipment is lost/damaged, full replacement cost will be charged at the discretion of the Cruise
Director. Published equipment prices will be available on board.

Please advise any special meal requirements on the guest information form.
Currency:
If possible, please pay all on board costs in Indonesian rupiah. We suggest you
also have some rupiah for souvenir shopping in Komodo, small items etc. The airport’s rate is lower
than the rate you find at most small currency exchanges. Bank rates are low and take a long time.
US$ are accepted in the Komodo National Park but rupiah is preferred. There are several currency
exchange services and ATM machines at the airport and ATM’s at the port.
Luggage and what should I bring:
All luggage will be taken on board. If you have large bags you
